Double the Wage for Overtime Act of 2026

This bill would change the federal Fair Labor Standards Act so that employers must pay overtime hours at two times an employee's regular rate of pay instead of one and one-half times. The change applies to the main overtime section of the law and to several related exemption sections that currently use the one-and-one-half rate. The changes would take effect 180 days after the bill becomes law.
