Strengthening American Nuclear Energy Act of 2026

This bill would turn four presidential executive orders on nuclear energy, signed on May 23, 2025, into federal law. The orders cover changing how the Department of Energy tests nuclear reactors, using advanced nuclear reactor technology for national security, reforming the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and rebuilding the nuclear industry. Once the bill is law, these orders would have the force and effect of law instead of standing only as executive actions.
