PRIMED Act

This bill would require that certain Defense Department actions under the Defense Production Act be treated as "covered projects" under the federal permitting process set up by the FAST Act, even if they would not otherwise qualify. The actions covered include support for feasibility studies for mining and processing projects, byproduct production at existing mines and industrial sites, and modernization of mining and processing. These actions would also be listed on the federal Permitting Dashboard. A project sponsor could ask that its action not be treated as a covered project, and then it would be left out.
