Respect the Chief Act of 2025

This bill requires the Secretary of Defense to report on whether command and control leadership boards across the Department of Defense have been updated as required. By January 31, 2026, the Secretary must send a report to the President and the congressional defense committees certifying compliance with update requirements during the prior calendar year. After a new President is inaugurated or a new Secretary of Defense is confirmed, the Secretary must, within 120 days, certify that all such boards show the current Commander-in-Chief and other leadership changes.
