Indigenous Students Excel through Parity Act of 2026 (II)

This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to update, within one year, the formula used to fund schools run by the Bureau of Indian Education. The updated formula must provide enough funding to pay school employees at rates tied to state salaries at non-Bureau schools, consider extra weight for tribally controlled, small, and rural schools, and give Havasupai Elementary School an added cost factor. The Secretary must also report to Congress on whether the formula meets school needs and recommend changes. After the update, the President's yearly budget request must seek full funding for the program, adjusted for inflation and including pay increases matched to Defense Department school salaries and federal employee raises.
