Wildfire Response Modernization Act

This bill would require the Secretary of the Air Force, working through the Commercial Space Office, to buy data and related products from commercial space-based sources, if Congress provides funding for it. The purchases would be coordinated with the National Guard's FireGuard program and the Commander of U.S. Northern Command. The data would support the military's wildfire mission, including protecting military installations, providing emergency support to civil authorities, and managing wildland fires. The Secretary could also share the data with State, local, and Tribal governments to help fight fires.
