PEAT Act of 2026

This bill changes the federal definition of a "biological product" in the Public Health Service Act. It states that a biologic may not be treated as a biological product based only on the presence of a protein that is a clinically inactive component in it. The bill's full name, the Protecting Equal Access to Thyroid Act, refers to thyroid medicines. The bill also makes a small punctuation correction to the same section of law.
