UNLOCK Act

This bill would change the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to add a new allowed use for Community Development Block Grant funds. Cities, urban counties, states, local governments, insular areas, and tribal entities that receive these grants could use the money to build new homes for low- and moderate-income people. They could do this on their own or with help from neighborhood-based or other public or private nonprofit groups.
