Community Firearm Safety Act of 2026

This bill would change federal law so that money from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program can be used for programs that give out gun safes. The safes, or other storage devices that open only with a key, combination, or similar method, would be given to individuals at no cost to them. The bill adds this as a new allowed use of these existing federal justice grants.
