BOPEN Act of 2025

This bill would provide money from the U.S. Treasury to pay the salaries and expenses of the federal Bureau of Prisons during any period when regular or temporary government funding for fiscal year 2026 or 2027 is not in effect, such as during a government shutdown. The funding would not cover officers of the Bureau of Prisons who must be appointed by the President with the Senate's approval.
