VERIFY CDL Act

This bill would change federal law on commercial driver's licenses (CDLs). A state could issue or renew a CDL only if the applicant's authorization to work in the United States has been checked through the federal E-Verify Program. The check would take place at the time the person applies for the license or its renewal.
